Christopher Jaepheth Cuby (born December 31, 1996) is an American creator, writer, and creative architect originally from Atlanta, Georgia, now based in Washington, D.C.
Since 2011, Cuby has worked across creative disciplines spanning music production, narrative performance, and immersive world-building. In 2025, these cumulative pursuits led to the creation of VESSELBORN, his first long-form mythic epic.
After discovering and becoming deeply infatuated with the visionary romanticism of Percy Bysshe Shelley, Cuby began writing mythic and poetic prototypes in 2017 as narrative experiments. Shelley's profound influence became the gateway through which he immersed himself in legendary figures and timeless narratives, guiding him toward Homer's epic verse, John of Patmos's apocalyptic imagery, Solomon’s wisdom literature, and the stoic reflections of Marcus Aurelius. These classical inspirations, now interwoven with modern strategic insights from Robert Greene and the speculative storytelling of Masamune Shirow, culminated in 2025 when he unified his creative experiences into a single, scalable science-fantasy intellectual property.
The monumental reign of Ramesses II remains a daily inspiration for Cuby, a constant reminder of what a legacy can become.
VESSELBORN is designed as a testament — to be carried forward by my son and every generation after him, so they may inherit not just a story, but the power to build their own. It is an heirloom of words and timelines, enduring beyond my years so that the narrative does not die with me, but becomes an inheritance for those who come next.
