The Tactician-Class Engineered, designed by Prince Varethis’Daer Venar during the later stages of the Era of Absolute Expansion (~2,000–1,500 years before modern Geba), are a specialized class of Engineered humans stemming from the Assault-Class built for strategic analysis, adaptability, and battlefield intuition. Formalized during the reign of Emperor Varethis’Auren Kel’varesh, they excel in command roles, coordinating operations with unmatched precision. They find natural-borns, even of the elite, to have reaction times that are far too slow to be effective in any meaningful way. Very direct and dry even when attempting humor, many pursue careers in business, politics, or state affairs post-service, driven by ceaseless mental activity. They never operate independently, always accompanied by Assault-Class for protection and execution.
Tactician-Class Engineered live 120–200 years, longer than natural-born humans (120–150 years) but shorter than Destroyer-Class (up to 400 years). Maturity is reached at 15–20 years, with reproduction possible thereafter.
The Tactician-Class Engineered were formalized within the Assault-Class, selecting those who fail to match the sheer physical dominance of their peers but excel in tactical analysis, adaptability, and battlefield intuition. They undergo specialized training to refine strategic abilities and became prominent post-Auren’s assassination (~2,000 years before modern Geba). The Empire’s 8-Year Rule mandates service for state-born individuals, though many serve voluntarily. Their strategic brilliance and human-like appearance make them ideal for post-service roles in urban centers. Many struggle to find fulfilling meaning after retirement and some die by suicide due to constant mental agitation. They never operate independently and require Assault-Class support for physical security and execution. Expedition teams should integrate Tacticians with Assault-Class units to maximize operational success.
