Alias: None
Origin: Geba (planet-wide, various biomes)
Hybrid Engineered are offspring of two Engineered classes or an Engineered and a natural-born human. Recognized as a distinct category within the Geban Empire, they emerged during the later Era of Absolute Expansion (~2,000–1,500 years before modern Geba) under designs attributed to Prince Varethis’Daer Venar. Biologically viable, Hybrids express traits from one or both parents. True dual-expressing cases are rare and often unstable in cognition, form, or hormonal regulation. Some hide their heritage to avoid scrutiny. Hybrids outside state custody are exempt from the 8-Year Rule.
Hybrids occur planet-wide across Geba’s terrains. Distribution depends on parental traits: Scout Hybrids favor sensory-rich jungles or caverns; Tacticians suit urban or command centers; Assault and Destroyer Hybrids occupy rugged or hostile zones such as deserts or cliffs. They avoid only extreme uninhabitable zones unless specifically adapted.
Highly adaptable across elevations (sea level to ~4 km), climates (temperate to polar) and typical weather (rains, tidal surges, dust storms, snow). Class tendencies affect tolerance: Scouts manage high-altitude and humid zones; Tacticians prefer stable centers; Assault/Destroyer Hybrids endure extreme desert or frost conditions aided by class-specific gear.
Typical Hybrid lifespan is 120–180 years. Maturity at 15–20 years. Destroyer Hybrids may approach ~400 years due to enhanced physiology. Reproduction follows maturity.
Heights vary by dominant class: Scout Hybrids range up to ~7 feet; Tacticians conform to standard human ranges; Assault Hybrids commonly exceed 7 feet; Destroyer Hybrids can exceed 8–9 feet. Dual-expressing Hybrids may deviate significantly from norms.
Hybrids arose from Prince Varethis’Daer Venar’s programs and grew in number during the later Era of Absolute Expansion. The Empire monitors Hybrids under class-purity policies and the 8-Year Rule, though some concealment occurs. Destroyer Hybrids are rare, long-lived, and often bound to sealed contracts. Variability complicates command and integration; dual-expressing cases risk instability and require oversight. Assess Hybrid traits before deployment to avoid role conflicts between sensory and command priorities.
