Alias: None
Origin: Geba (planet-wide, various biomes)
The Scout-Class Engineered, designed by Prince Varethis’Daer Venar during the later stages of the Era of Absolute Expansion (~2,000–1,500 years before modern Geba), are a specialized class of Engineered humans built for environmental mapping, sensory dominance, and unassisted survival. Considered Prince Daer’s masterpiece, they represent a lineage optimized for terrain surveillance, independent of failing equipment. Their enhanced physiology enables perception of extended light spectrums, pressure shifts, chemical gradients, and motion detection through micro-muscular preactivation. Memory structures are optimized for spatial retention and sensory-layer recall. They often isolate due to perceptual conflict with others, as their experience of reality cannot be adequately described through normal language—only other Scouts tend to understand them fully. They do not trust tacticians. Visibly distinct but capable of blending, they operate independently, thriving in Geba’s most inhospitable regions. They are masters of improvised camouflage and can maintain perfect stillness for days at a time, making shots that others would find impossible even without optic assistance. If a Scout has to fire his weapon in battle, something has gone wrong, but they are fully capable.
Scout-Class Engineered operate across Geba’s diverse biomes, from equatorial jungles and Thazvaar’s deserts to Ngorrhal’s cliffs and Kela’s polar shelves, thriving in any environment, including extreme zones like stratospheric peaks or subsurface corridors.
Built to survive without limits, Scout-Class Engineered endure all elevations (sea level to 60 km), climates (from equatorial heat to polar cold), and weather conditions (rains, dust storms, snowstorms, stellar disruptions), leveraging their physiology to excel in any scenario.
Scout-Class Engineered live 200–300 years, longer than natural-born humans (120–150 years) and most other Engineered classes. Maturity is reached at 30 years, with reproduction possible thereafter. They mature physically very slowly.
Scout-Class Engineered tend to range from slightly under 7 feet to nearly 8 feet, with nonhuman cranial proportions—elongated ocular range and subtle temple translucency. Eye pigmentation shifts in unstable light. Muscle tone appears leaner and denser.
Males typically weigh 90–110 kg, and females weigh 70–90 kg, reflecting their leaner, denser frames prioritizing sensory dominance over bulk, similar to Tactician-Class.
Scout-Class Engineered emerged as Prince Daer’s masterpiece in bioengineering, becoming prominent post-Auren’s assassination (~2,000 years before modern Geba). The Empire’s 8-Year Rule mandates service for state-born individuals, though many serve voluntarily. Many post-service Scouts form societies in uninhabitable regions where only they can survive; they are nearly the only humans on Saethera’s hostile southern continent, aside from Assault-Class who follow Engineered friends anywhere. Their limitless adaptability fulfills their purpose to conquer Geba’s unexplored environments through superior intuition. Expedition teams should utilize their motion detection and spectral perception for threat assessment.
